Descriptions
Short: MacMon watches your Mac's security over time, and what your AI coding agents do.
Medium: MacMon is a menu bar app that runs security checks every 15 minutes, tracks changes to what starts at login, who has privacy permissions, and what's trusted on your Mac, and keeps an independent record of what Claude Code and Codex do. It audits only, never changes a setting, and keeps everything on your Mac.
Long: Security checklists tell you how a Mac is set up right now. MacMon keeps checking. Every 15 minutes it runs more than 60 checks, covering FileVault, SIP, the firewall, updates, screen lock, sharing, and credential hygiene, and records every change to launch items, login items, privileged helpers, profiles, certificates, admin accounts, and privacy permissions. For developers using AI coding agents, it logs every Claude Code and Codex tool call, flags risky commands and configuration such as unpinned MCP servers or bypass-permissions mode, and alerts if an agent edits its own hooks or rewrites its transcripts. Every alert explains why it matters and what to look at. MacMon has no accounts, analytics, or servers, and makes no network connections.
